“Baojing Golden Tea” has gained widespread acclaim. In Lyudongshan’s Huangjin Village, there are seven ancient tea gardens, with the oldest ancient tea tree being 415 years old, hailed by industry experts as “a drinkable cultural relic.”
Huangjin Village is also the birthplace of Baojing Golden Tea. According to legend, during the reign period of Emperor Jiajing of the Ming Dynasty, Lu Jie, an imperial censor from Huguang and Guizhou, passed through it, suffered from miasma, and was cured by an elderly Miao woman with tea soup. In gratitude, he immediately presented a gold bar and reported this tea as a tribute.
The town has 36 large-scale tea planters, 84 skilled tea makers, 80 intermediate tea art specialists and tea tasters, with 11,000 people engaged in tea planting, processing, and sales. The per capita net income reaches 21,750 yuan, turning these small leaves into golden leaves that lead the people to prosperity.
Currently, the planting area of Baojing Golden Tea has accounted for over 70% of the town’s total planting area. Several exemplary and influential cooperatives have been established, providing a full range of services from tea planting to processing and sales, with products sold domestically and internationally.
In the future, the scope of the tea industry will be further expanded, and derivative products of tea will be developed, such as tea polyphenols, tea beverages, and tea wine. The green industry chain will be extended, and the transformation from traditional tea industry to modern tea industry will be achieved.
With themes such as ancient tea gardens, precious ancient trees, waterfall landscapes, and Miao villages, the town has launched a series of cultural festival events such as the ethnic cultural tourism festival, attracting numerous visitors to experience Miao culture, enjoy the scenery of the tea valley, and savor the fragrant tea.
Efforts have been made to strengthen the construction of cultural and tourism infrastructure, maximize the advantages of resources and vividly narrate the captivating stories of tea, scenery, and villages to the world.

After the rain, the village built against the mountains is shrouded in hazy morning mist. In Huangjin Village, the wooden stilted houses exude an ancient charm, with clean streets, beautified courtyards, and cozy accommodations that make it hard for visitors to leave.
In recent years, Huangjin Village has implemented measures such as building colored asphalt roads, planting landscape trees along the roads, and organizing the selection of the most beautiful rural homes to improve the living environment.
As a result, the village has successively been awarded titles such as a “National Civilized Village” and one of the ninth batch of “One Village, One Product” demonstration villages nationwide.
